What is your busyness really telling you?

Before my second son came along I’d decided that I was going to do things differently and actually slow down after he was born. 🐌

With my first son, I’d been hyped on new mum energy and the giddiness that comes from a distinct lack of sleep! 😜

I’d been all biz, both in the house and outside, getting out to classes and for walks and visiting family and friends. 🏡

Second time around I paid way more attention to my body. And in what turned out to be an amazingly good decision, I decided to get onto my yoga mat. 🧘‍♀️

I was trying to keep any ‘exercise’ to a minimum but my bum was constantly numb and my hips were so sore. 😣

I didn’t do anything drastic, but most days I got on my mat for 15 minutes or so and stretched out. ☀️

What I noticed was that doing it every day gave me some calibration of how my body and hence how I was doing. The two were so entwined. 🧬

When I’d had a bad nights sleep, or was feeling anxious or worried about something it showed in my body feeling stiff. And conversely, when I was well rested (rarely 😂) and feeling the good vibes, it showed in better balance and stability.

Like many things in motherhood, its been a lesson that has transferred over into other areas of life too. ✅

When we keep ourselves busy we so easily loose touch with our body, and in doing so ignore the things going on deeper down.

We distract ourselves from the things that feel hard so that they stay as a like whisper or niggle and nothing more because there’s ‘never time’ to explore them more. ☁️

So in this episode of the PODCAST I’m delving into this a bit more by asking, What are you distracting yourself from? Listen in to hear more.
