26 | How to find more balance in your business
In this episode I share my experience of being held back in business by juggling it all. Whilst on mat leave with my first son I worked on building up my growing artisan granola company. It started off being really fun with lots of creativity.
But after a few months I started putting more and more pressure on myself to make a success of the business without having really tangibly defined what 'success' actually looked like. So work started creeping into all of the pockets of free time that I had, I stayed up late and worked at the weekends.
And ultimately the way of working became unsustainable, not because I burnt out, but because I lost the love. I had a huge passion for the business and the ethos behind it, but working on it started feeling like a chore.
It wasn't an overnight thing, more of a slow drip effect. It was a great learning experience for me and a large part of my drive to want to support other mums in business find a balance that works and is sustainable for them.
