Cultivate your plan for 2025 in business

I sit writing this wrapped under a duvet while it’s still dark outside. As we sit on the season of little daylight here in the North of Scotland I feel my body being pulled into hibernation, while my head is still tracking all there is to do as the year gets started. 

How about you? I hope this finds you well and getting what you need to resource and replenish during what can be a very full time of year.

Even though my days are full, with 100 Gift Sessions still in full swing, there is a spaciousness in all of the doing. I’ve recently reread one of my favourite books, The Amazing Story of the man who cycled from India to Europe for Love by Per J Andersson.

In this place of spaciousness I love daydreaming about what might be next. Feeling into what it is that I enjoy and what lights me up. What I might want to create and offer in 2025.

I’m reminded of this quote by Howard Thurman:

“Don't ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive”

In the past I’ve found it hard to take this daydreamy vision and turn it into a solid plan for the year ahead.

One of the hardest things to do as a business owner, especially in the early years, is figuring out what you need to do to turn your big vision into reality and how to create a structure to make sure that you actually do it.

There are times when the daydreams have never made it out of my head and other times when I’ve become so lost in getting the plan down on paper that I’ve lost touch with the heart of what I’m doing and why.

Until, after much trial and error I’ve found a happy medium between these two places.
